Emerging technology integration programs
The clear focus of Holst Centre is to develop generic technologies for its partners or other interested companies to license and use in their next-generation products. However, to demonstrate and validate our technologies, we have set up a number of Technology Integration Programs that focus on a specific application domains.
As Holst Centre and its partner network grows, we continuously look for new application domains for which we can build technology demonstrators. This makes our research more tangible for parties thinking about joining Holst Centre. It also gives existing partners a clear understanding of the technology potential of our research.
Existing Technology integration programs mainly focus on the domains of:
Programs are defined and refined in interaction with industry
Before we offer a new program to potential partners, we setup a clear roadmap through workshops and one-to-one interactions with industrial players in the field. The roadmap not only contains expected deliverables and milestones, but also an assessment of the market potential and business case of the investigated technologies.
Based on a couple of macro-trends and current market interests, we identify candidates for addition to our research matrix.
For all cases cases to be considered, we have to see an external market pull, technical requirements in extension of our current technical skills, and a potentially large societal benefit that is supported by many stakeholders not in the least our researchers.
