Outreach
[Excerpt from the Wikipedia definition:] Outreach is an effort to connect ideas or practices to the efforts of other organizations, groups, specific audiences or the general public. Unlike marketing, outreach does not inherently revolve around strategies to increase market share. It is increasingly common for organizations to conceive of their outreach strategy as a two-way street in which outreach is framed as engagement rather than solely dissemination or education.
Outreach projects
While setting up extensive educational and public information campaigns would be beyond the scope of our mission, we do try to partner with existing initiatives by giving them access to our visions and technology. One important audience we hope to reach and inspire is youngsters and students. Since they are one of the important beholders of creativity and will become the developers and users of tomorrow’s products.
Also, Holst Centre sees great value in linking designers and artists to engineers and researchers. Illustrations are the creation of Future Sketches in 2007-2008 and more recent projects described below. There is an overall consensus that this way of presenting Holst Centre and its research creates a win-win for the audiences that we reach and for our own activities.
