To coordinate the activities at Holst Centre, imec set up a separate legal entity: Stichting imec Nederland (imec-nl).

With over 4000 researchers and engineers, TNO is the largest Dutch independent R&D organization. TNO turns knowledge into practical applications and so contributes to the innovative power of businesses – for public and international organizations –in the Netherlands and abroad. TNO focuses its efforts on seven themes: Healthy Living; Industrial Innovation; Energy/Geological Survey of the Netherlands; Mobility; Built Environment; Information Society; and Defence, Safety and Security. Within these themes, TNO provides a broad and in-depth package of products and services, from advising on policy, products and services and performing contract research to the testing and evaluation of products and systems and certification according to international standards. TNO assigned one of its expertise centers in "Industrial Innovation" to coordinate the activities at Holst Centre.
